First devlog on itch.io | releasing the TSR demo!


This is my first time posting a devlog on here. I probably should've started this earlier so I had something to look back on once I've finished the demo but it's never too late to start. Making videos is incredibly exhausting so I hope I can get more across through writing. Anyway, onto the topic!

As of writing this, the demo for The Shadow Runner has just been published. All I have to do now is finish the trailer I'm making and I can finally relax (or not considering I still have to make 2 more worlds). To recap, here are all the features of The Shadow Runner:

  • Three tutorial levels
  • 3 worlds, each with 9 levels and a boss fight
  • A secret world unlocked by [REDACTED]
  • 1 other world, The Powerplant, unlocked after beating the world 3 boss (2 more bonus worlds are planned for the full release)
  • 6 achievements
  • A hidden grade system (beating a level without taking damage gives an A+, and the bonus levels have S- and S+ which mean [REDACTED])

That's a lot of content, and even more is planned for the full release!

After publishing the trailer, I'm probably going to find a way to tell people about my game without "self advertising" (I really do not like self advertising, but I don't really know any other way to get eyeballs onto this game). Once I've done my little advertising break, I will get back to work and design those other 2 worlds.

Anyway, that was my first devlog. I hope that as I start developing the game again I will continue posting about my progress. I've come so far since I started this game 1.5 years ago, and I feel like I will have a lot to write in the last stretch!
